Ozzi's Scoop Shop/Magill's Ice Cream

Image
There's nothing better than a day spent in the mountains, finished off with some ice cream in a little mountain town. During our stay in Colorado, the whole fam had a picnic in the mountains and stopped at a little scoop shop in Morrison, CO as we headed home. This little scoop shop, Ozzi's, served Magill's ice cream. Magill's is made in Lakewood, Colorado. Apparently the Magill's scoop shop in Lakewood serves 32 different flavors everyday and they sell a total of over 80 flavors! While there were only a few flavors available at Ozzi's, there were some pretty interesting looking ones. I chose to get a scoop of Irish Cream. This flavor is described as Irish Cream Ice Cream, layered with Caramel & Chocolate Chips and is made with Bailey's. At first bite, this ice cream had a wonderful and strong Bailey's flavor. It was cream and didn't really have any alcohol burn. However, as you kept eating, the intensity of the Irish Cream flavor fad...

Clementine's Naughty and Nice Creamery

Image
I have been so excited for winter break because winter break is always full of hanging out with Madeline and eating lots of ice cream! It also means hanging out in the best city ever, St. Louis! The ice cream Renaissance of St. Louis, which started about two years ago, continued this May with the opening of Clementine's Naughty and Nice Creamery in the Lafayette Square area. Right before the brick and mortar scoop shop opened, I tried 6 different pints of Clementine's ice cream and loved them! I've been super excited to take Madeline to Clementine's ever since then! Right before I flew to Boston to visit Brett, Madeline and I stopped by Clementine's. There was no one else in the shop when we were there, so we took our time and sampled quite a few flavors before making our decisions. Knowing the portions are pretty small, both Madeline and I ordered three scoops. The flavors I ordered were Lemongrass Coconut, Salted Crack Caramel, and Peppermint Bark. The Peppermi...

The Fountain on Locust

Image
Located just East of St. Louis University, The Fountain on Locust is one of my favorite St. Louis restaurants. They boast great food, great ice cream, fun cocktails and ICE CREAM COCKTAILS! Combining ice cream and alcohol is really an amazing and wonderful thing and I don't quite understand why it isn't done more often. So to continue to describe The Fountain on Locust, which is really tough because there are so many cool things about it. First, the interior is all art-deco-y which is super cool, and has made The Fountain the most photographed restaurant in St. Louis! They also can serve you the world's smallest ice cream cone and world's smallest ice cream sundae. How cool is that?! The only problem is, their ice cream treats are sooo good you would never want to order just a little bit! For one, some of their sundaes are made with Zanzibar chocolate ice cream (which I think I talked about in my Cookie Dough Creations post), which is so unique and amazing. They als...
