Best Ice Cream of 2016

I love the beginning of a new year because it means that it's time to look back at all of our posts from the previous year and pick our favorite ice creams.  While looking through old posts I inevitably stumble on one or two AMAZING flavors that I had completely forgotten! To choose the award categories, I look through my old posts and say, "Ooooh, that ice cream/sorbet/gelato was great, I should give it the 'Best ______ of the year' award!"  Then I make sure I didn't forget a super obvious award like 'Best ice cream of the year." The post you've all been waiting for! You've probably been wondering what ice cream I ate the day before the Boston Marathon. Also spring means time for awesome fruity flavors, so I decided on raspberry chip! So pretty! The base of coconut chip was strongly coconut flavored and quite sweet! As Brett described Picco's ice cream, "their flavors are what they say they are!" Picco's f...

Horray! It's time for the first ice cream of the New Year! And the first ice cream of the year had better be good, so after a quick Google search of "best ice cream in Boston," Brett and I headed off to Picco Pizza and Ice Cream for an afternoon treat. Picco is a unique ice cream experience, because it is a restaurant, first and foremost. But you can come for only ice cream and sit at a table, sit at the bar, or take your ice cream to go. It was a too chilly that Sunday afternoon for a stroll with ice cream, so Brett and I sat at a table for our ice cream, instead of getting it to go. Although there were options for floats, shakes, sundaes, and scoops, Brett and I both decided to order "the sampler," which allows you to try 3 flavors for $6.50! This would allow us to try almost half of the flavors available that day. And from looking at Picco's FaceBook page, they rotate flavors, note everyday, but quite frequently! Brett ordered Mint Chip, Honey, and ...
