Thanks for sticking around and reading about another year of Madeline and Lizzy's ice cream adventures!  Here's a round-up of our favorite ice creams of the year. Best Flavor Madeline: Rhubarb Cinnamon Almond (Sweet Science).  I had absolutely no trouble picking my favorite flavor of the year.  There are three or four vying for second place, but summer seasonal flavor Rhubarb Cinnamon Almond was just so far above and beyond.  It was the perfect mix of tart rhubarb, toasted almond and sweet cinnamon-sugar swirl.  I bought an extra pint, and I'm saving in my freezer until I can't stand winter anymore. Then I'll break open the pint and remember summer. It has been way too long since I have reviewed a vegan ice cream. The last time I reviewed a vegan ice cream, this blog was quite new. In fact, it was just over a year ago. In that post I discussed how Schnucks' was upholding the dairy-archy. They segregated their non-dairy ice creams to a section of the store separate from the dairy ice creams. Unfortunately, HyVee, where I spotted this unique brand, is also upholding the dairy-archy. However, here at the Big Muddy Ice Cream Blog, we do not support discrimination against, vegans and other dairy abstainers and their ice creams. Although we haven't done the greatest job reviewing these products, we do not believe you should have to walk to some weird out of the way section of the store to buy them.
