Ben & Jerry's Brownie Batter Core

Image
Without really trying, I've been on a bit of a brownie kick as of late. Maybe brownies will be the it  dessert of 2017? Like move over cupcakes and donuts, here come lots of brownies and blondies in all sorts of fun flavors? I'd be into it, but my dessert and ice cream trend predictions (wishes) don't often come true. This flavor is described as Chocolate & Vanilla Ice Cream with F udge Brownies & a Brownie Batter Core. First off, I don't have a ton to say about the bases. Nothing too exciting here, though it was nice to see simple base flavors in the core series. Other Ben & Jerry's cores have been made too busy by fancy base flavors. The brownies were good, standard delicious moist and dense Ben & Jerry's brownies. However, they seemed smaller than in other B&J's flavors that feature brownies. There also could have been just a few more of them. Last but not least, the core was interesting. My first few bites, I didn...

Talenti Fudge Brownie Gelato

Image
Last week my roommate informed me a grocery store in downtown Iowa City, John's Grocery, was having a sale on Talenti Gelato. Obviously I made my way over to check it out.  This grocery store was quite teeny tiny, and they didn't have the biggest Talenti selection; however, they had a couple of flavors I haven't tried before. One of the flavors was obviously Fudge Brownie. Also, the sale was pretty good, I got two pints of Talenti Gelato for $7! At other grocery stores you can pay between four and five dollars for Talenti. The description of this flavor on the website reads Brownies. There are real, gooey, perfect brownies blended into our extra-dark-chocolate gelato. Also, we added a swirl of rich, dark fudge because we're really into swirls of fudge right now. First, I want to hang out with the person who writes the descriptions of Talenti flavors. Something about the description strikes me as particularly hilarious. But you know, sometimes I also am reall...

Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie

Image
I picked this flavor up at the grocery store the other week for a few reasons. First, I recently had another Ben & Jerry's flavor with brownies, the Wal-Mart exclusive, Peanut Butter Brownie Sundae , and I was reminded of how amazing Ben & Jerry's brownies are. Second, a while back after tweeting a picture of the Ashbury Track Club's Ben & Jerry's tower, someone tweeted at Big Muddy, "Chocolate fudge brownie ice cream...love it..." To be honest, when I saw this tweet, I was thinking, of all the flavors in the tower to be excited about, Chocolate fudge brownie? But then again, even though it might not be the most exciting flavor, it is a classic and it has been ages since I've last had it. The third reason I picked it up is because Gerbe's doesn't have a very large ice cream selection. This flavor is described as Chocolate Ice Cream   with Fudge Brownies The lack of brownies visible when first opening this pint was not at all ...

Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Brownie Sundae

Image
Ben & Jerry's recently released a new Wal-Mart exclusive flavor, Peanut Butter Brownie Sundae. I was pretty excited to hear this news, because I love peanut butter and I love brownies. Can you do better than combining them? I think not. However, I don't love Wal-Mart. I try to shop there only when I am buying ice cream that I can't get anywhere else, like exclusive flavors and Sam's Choice ice cream (I still really want to try their Coffee and Donuts flavor which Madeline reviewed here ). But no need to dwell on the negatives of Wal-Mart. Instead, lets talk about the really exciting company that makes the brownies for Ben & Jerry's, Greyston Bakery!! Ben & Jerry's and Greyston Bakery have been working together since 1988. I am pretty surprised that I didn't know more about this company up until this point; however, this is  the first Ben & Jerry's flavor with brownies I have reviewed. The company opened in 1982 and has always trie...
