Til the Cows Come Home: Dough-Mo Arigato, Mr. Roboto

Image
How many Styx/ice cream lovers are there who have been waiting for decades for this ice cream?? Well, if you are one of them, HyVee has finally delivered. I almost couldn't bring myself to buy this ice cream because the pun is SO BAD. And not bad in a good way, just bad bad. Ugh. But I love cookie dough so I got over myself and bought it. This flavor is described as Cookie dough ice cream with cookie dough pieces, chocolate flavored chips, and cookie dough revel.  So this flavor is very similar to the Blue Bunny flavor that came out recently. Like basically the same elements. However, I think I enjoyed the Blue Bunny a bit more. All in all this flavor was just too much. Too sweet, too rich, too artificial tasting, just wow. I could only get through a third of a pint in one sitting before getting overwhelmed. The base was quite strong and the cookie dough revel was very thick with an even stronger cookie dough flavor. Similar to Blue Bunny, the swirl was quite goopy and ...

Til The Cows Come Home: Who Stole The Cookies From The Cookie Jar

Not long ago I tried a flavor from the new-ish HyVee line, Til the Cows Come Home, and wasn't super impressed. But I've heard such good things about the line in general, I decided to try another flavor. At my local HyVee the other day I was browsing the flavors and my jaw almost dropped to the floor when a saw the description for the flavor, Who Stole the Cookies From the Cookie Jar: Cookies & cream ice cream with fudge and whipped cream flavored revels . Shut the front door HyVee, who even knew you could make cookies and cream more exciting?  And without just making it a different flavor than cookies and cream (I'm thinking B&J Milk and Cookies as an example. Not that Milk and Cookies is bad, but it's just not a cookies and cream flavor). I guess Til The Cows Come Home figured out how to do just that. Side note: why is the name of this brand so long and why are all the names of their flavors so long? Side note 2: why are some ice cream companies usi...

New-to-Me Brand Alert! Til the Cows Come Home: A Kick in the Peanut Butter

Image
Excitement! Excitement! For those of you who are #blessed enough to live with HyVee's in your area, you probably noticed a while back that a bunch of new ice cream popped up on their shelves! This is because HyVee has started producing their own ice cream brands. In fact I think there are three new HyVee brands. Til the Cows Come Home is the priciest brand, which comes in pints, It's Your Churn is premium ice cream which comes in 1.5 quart containers, and We All Scream comes in 4 quart pails. And seeing as Madeline does not live near a HyVee it is my job to let you all know how these new(-ish) flavors are! The first flavor I decided to try was A Kick in the Peanut Butter. All of the Til the Cows Come Home flavors have puns in their names. This flavor is described as Chocolate ice cream with peanut butter ribbon, brownies and peanut butter candy cups . The chocolate base of this flavor was incredibly milky and sweet. My first bite was only swirl, and I was initially worr...
