Coolhaus Milkshake & Fries

Image
Prepare your body and soul for SO MANY MOAR Coolhaus reviews! Today I have Milkshake & Fries, salted Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream with shoestring french fries and milk chocolate malt balls. Confession. I have never been a fan of dipping french fries in milkshake. I don't dislike  it, I just don't get it. Intellectually, I get why people like the hot/cold sweet/salty combination, but to me it just tastes like a fry .... and some milkshake. The total is not more than the sum of its parts. Despite, this I think french fries in ice cream could work really well. I recently reviewed Coolhaus' salted Tahitian vanilla bean base in my review of  Campfire S'mores . It's nearly perfect. It's a strong but not overpowering vanilla flavor and the salt helps to emphasize the sweetness of the base. In that review, I also brought up Coolhaus' propensity towards smaller mix-ins meant to blend with the base, as opposed to Ben and Jerry's-style chunktastic...

Fozzie's Nutty Professor Milkshake

Image
Occasionally, I eat food besides ice cream. Hands down, my favorite sandwich shop in St. Louis is Fozzie's Sandwich Emporium. They seriously have the best black bean burger ever. I mean, it is called an Emporium, how could it not be good? Not only do they have great sandwiches and salads, for omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans alike, Fozzies has superb milkshakes. Fozzie's is also a favorite of Madeline and not long ago I found out she had never had a milkshake from Fozzie's! Obviously when she visited St. Louis a few weekends ago, we had to get some milkshakes! Fozzie's standard milkshakes are super awesome. In fact, I am so in love with their Salty Kisses shake I sometimes forget to even look at their specials. When we ate there one of their specials was a Nutty Professor milkshake. As it is my life goal to be a nutty professor, I had to order this milkshake. This milkshake also features blondies. I have a newfound appreciation for blondies after eating Ben & Je...

Hardee's Vanilla Milkshake

Image
As part of my life quest to east as much ice cream as possible and write as many inane reviews about ice cream as possible, this year I have been attempting to try something from every place in Eldon to get ice cream. Unfortunately, I did not get any ice cream from Sonic before it closed back in the early Fall. (I am considering just going to a different Sonic in order to feel a true sense of completion.) Today, as far as I am aware, I completed that quest. Today, I got a vanilla milkshake from Hardee's. Hardee's does not have many ice cream options. They have chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry shakes and malts all available in only one size. I decided to go as simple as possible with the vanilla milk shake. I may go back and get a chocolate malt and throw that into my chocolate malt head to head between Eldon Drive-In and Cree Mee I did last year. I paid about $3.50 for this shake. I was pleasantly surprised that my $3.50 got me whipped cream on my shake. Cool. Hard...
