A few weekends ago my friend Bronwyn and I were going to go to the Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop on the Delmar Loop. I was really excited because I wanted to try the Tonight Dough flavor. However, it was super snowy that day and Ben & Jerry's wasn't open. However, FroYo across the street was. So we decided to hit that up, instead. If you've read my reviews of previous frozen yogurt shops, you know I have a whole check list of questions that I try to address in each post. They are as follows: 1) The variety of flavors: is there a good selection? 2) The flavor of my choices. 3) The quality of the combination of my choices. 4) The texture of the froyo (or sorbet, etc.) 5) The variety of the toppings. 6) Quality of the toppings. 7) How well my toppings coordinate with my froyo flavors. 8) Overall experience. So I wasn't initially going to blog about this. But then a friend asked me what I thought of the new Ben and Jerry's Make Your Own Core Sundae and I talked to her about the one I had for like 10 minutes.  She looked a me like, "Lizzy, get a life" and I thought to myself (to quote Madeline) "This is the life that I have chosen." Last Friday Brett and I went to Ben and Jerry's on the Delmar Loop. I had been really excited about the make your own core sundae and new I had to get one. They put two different flavors of ice cream and the core of your choosing all in one container and top it with whipped cream. What could be better than that? As a chocolate love I KNEW I wanted to get the hot fudge core. And I thought, "What a wonderful way to may two not-so-chocolate flavors more chocolatey?!" Last Tuesday, April 8th was free cone day at Ben & Jerry's! I am a huge B&J's fan, but this was my first time going to free cone day. The Ben & Jerry's in St. Louis (yeah there is only one) is on the Delmar Loop, which is a super fun street with lots of cool restaurants and shops. It is also considered one of the best 10 streets in the nation. The line for free cone day was out the door and way down the street. It was a gorgeous April day, which honestly are rare in St. Louis. For example, today it was 40 degrees and sleeting, joy. We, me my roommate Bronwyn and our neighbor/friend Lizzie, get to the back of the line and only wait for a few minutes before a B&J's worker comes back and starts shouting about trivia to win a front of the line pass.
