Every time I go to Target, I see these bars and think about getting them. I'm very drawn to them because they have incredibly attractive packaging. I usually don't purchase these types of things, frozen dairy desserts trying to be "healthy," but when I noticed the cookie dough flavor, I had to throw some in my cart because I am a lover of all things cookie dough. And a new year means time to try some different things! The description of these treats reads, Vanilla frozen greek yogurt bars with chocolate-flavored chips & pieces of cookie dough . The first thing I will say about these bars is man oh man is this company targeting a certain demographic, women between 25-40 I would guess. And oh gosh I'm almost in that demographic. When yogurt became a trendy food, frozen yogurt quickly followed. And again, when, more recently, Greek yogurt became a trendy food, Greek frozen yogurt has quickly followed. Both of these types of products are supposed to be healthier alternatives to ice cream. Which I think is inherently silly. When I am eating ice cream, I am trying  to eat as unhealthily as possible. But whatever. There are sort of two types of players in this Greek and regular frozen yogurt game. Ice cream companies turning their ice cream products into yogurt (or coming up with new flavors of yogurt) and yogurt companies moving into making a frozen dessert. However, I definitely believe frozen yogurt is closer to a frozen dessert than it is to yogurt, so I am inclined to think an ice cream company would make a better frozen yogurt than a yogurt company. I was incredibly impressed by the maturity of B&J's Vanilla Honey Caramel, the first flavor of their Greek Frozen Yogurt I had tried, and I was equally delighted by the Blueberry Vanilla Graham Flavor. This frozen yogurt is described as Blueberry and vanilla Greek frozen yogurts with a Graham Cracker Swirl. Confession: I discovered Greek yogurt and am never going back to the thin watery nonsense that tries to masquerade as yogurt.  In fact the thicker and tarter the yogurt is, the more I enjoy it.  I would eat Icelandic skyr - which is to Greek yogurt as Greek yogurt is to regular yogurt - if it was easier to get and less expensive. First let me say that I am totally impressed with B&J’s Greek Frozen Yogurts.  I’ve had one other flavor, Raspberry Fudge Chunk, that I have not reviewed on the blog. (Because Kyle ate it all.  Boo.)  Both that flavor and the Vanilla Honey Caramel flavor were amazing! To me, the Ben and Jerry’s brand exudes a certain playfulness.  Their flavors are chock-full of mix-ins, they have very playful flavor descriptions and they have COWS on their pints!  In contrast to the ice cream flavors, I felt that Vanilla Honey Caramel was a very mature flavor.  Reading the description, I wasn’t sure this was going to be a great flavor, as the only mix in was a caramel and honey swirl.  It was described as Vanilla Greek frozen yogurt with a honey caramel swirl. This is my first post about a frozen dessert that is made to be healthier than your standard ice cream. I love my full fat, full calorie ice creams, but I know not every does, at least all of the time! I think ice cream should be for everybody, so I really like the idea of frozen yogurt. I also like frozen yogurt better than just low fat ice cream, that may just have more sugar or something to make up the taste. However, I haven't reviewed such an ice cream on the blog. I went to the store, Gerbe's, today to restock my freezer. I went with the intention to either buy a sorbet or some form of frozen yogurt dessert. There was not sorbet at Gerbe's that I saw and Kroger was the only brand of frozen yogurt they had. So there we go. Honestly my expectations aren't high for this product. However, with my Gerbe's card it only cost $1!!!! ONE DOLLAR! And even if you didn't have a Gerbe's card it would only have been $2.29. For a whole pint. So honestly it could be...
