Cree Mee Drive In Banana Split

In the winter I tried Eldon Drive-In's banana split. In the ultimate quest to decide which drive in joint serves better ice cream, I had to try Cree Mee's banana split.

The first and most important difference between Cree Mee's banana split and Eldon Drive-In's is at Cree Mee you customize your own banana split. They serve it with any three sauces you pick from their list. I decided on marshmallow, hot fudge, and raspberry. If you don't like an element of Eldon Drive-In's banana split, well too bad. I like pineapple topping, which is on the Eldon Drive-In banana split, but I don't love it, biasing me toward Cree Mee. On the other hand, at Cree Mee, as T.I. tells us, "you can have whatever you like."

The second major difference is the size. Eldon Drive-Ins was much bigger. So much bigger, the last few bites weren't enjoyable. Cree Mee's was much more manageable. But I will admit, sometimes you need a massive banana split. In that case, go to Eldon Drive-In. The main reason Cree-Mee's is smaller is because of the lack of whipped cream. Cree Mee's could have benefitted from some whipped cream, but Eldon Drive-In overdoes it on the whipped cream. Like the whipped cream to ice cream ratio is over 1. There has to be a happy medium. The smaller size of Cree Mee's made the logistics of eating it better, too. Eldon Drive-In's was so big it fell apart all over the place and made a mess.

Now for a review of Cree Mee's with no more comparisons to Eldon Drive-In. This banana split melty too quickly. It was warm, but not too hot, outside when I ate it, but it was soup in a matter of minutes. Probably partially the fault of the hot fudge, as well, but it still melted too quickly to be excusable. The hot fudge was good, would get again. The marshmallow was not as good as I was expecting. It was sweet but not too much like marshmallow. Save the marshmallow for the pepsi. Last, the raspberry was sweet and not very tart. It didn't resemble the flavor of real raspberries much. I would probably get strawberry next time.

Soup. Delicious, delicious soup.

So that settles it. After winning the chocolate malt head to head, and now the banana split head to head, I will say officially, Cree Mee serves better ice cream.

PS. I have now given you the fruit food group. Now I only need to get protein and we will have gotten all 5.
