Ben & Jerry's Coffee, Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz!
For those of you that know me and Madeline well are probably pretty shocked that this flavor has not been reviewed. Coffee and ice cream are just about my two favorite things in the world and they are Madeline's, too. My life motto might as well be "You can never have too much ice cream or coffee." And the ice cream brand that has perfected the art of too much is definitely Ben & Jerry's. The bar is set high for this ice cream.
Before I review the ice cream, lets talk about coffee ice cream. If you ever encounter some crazy individual who does not like coffee, the way you bring them to the dark side is by starting them out with coffee ice cream. Coffee ice cream is the best tool of manipulation used by us Coffee Lords to convince people to work for the Coffee Empire. After getting them to like coffee ice cream you work them into sugary lattes and then before you know it they drink two cups of black, strong coffee each day and are totally using the force for evil. Muahahaha!! (Okay I promise the extended Star Wars metaphor is over).
The aforementioned progression just about my own. However, I may have gone through step one and two by the age of twelve. What can I say? My parents did right by me.
This Ben & Jerry's flavor is described as Coffee Ice Cream with Espresso Bean Fudge Chunks. At least in the description, this is a simpler flavor that is typical for Ben & Jerry's. And taste wise this flavor is simple, but in this case, simple is not a bad thing. The reason is because in its simplicity this flavor is strrroooong. Like on the scale from coffee ice cream to sugary lattes to black coffee, this ice cream is not that far from a sugary lattes while still being ice cream. The ice cream itself isn't stronger than any other coffee ice cream. Not that it's bad; not by any means. It has B&J's thickness and richness that this full fat, aka full amazingness, brand is known for and quite and amazing flavor. But what really makes this flavor for those who already love coffee is the espresso bean fudge chunks. The chunks are definitely fudge, not chocolate. They have that slight softness of fudge chunks. They are also a pretty dark chocolate, which is amazing with the coffee. You can also tell the chunks have real ground up espresso beans in them. The flavor is soooo strong and amazing, and they have that grittiness of the espresso beans. It's almost like eating chocolate covered espresso beans but if the chocolate and the bean were fused together. Yum. The chunks are also large and plentiful in perfect B&J's fashion.
Overall, this is the ice cream for those who like their coffee black and strong. It might not be the best weapon to combat someone who isn't a coffee fan; something tamer might do better. And the exclamation point in the name is actually necessary. Even a caffeine addict like me feels at least 1 out of 3 buzz's after having a bowl (or eating half the pint straight out of the container)!

Yes. I literally could not contain myself when I opened this pint and snagged a bitty little bite before taking a picture.
